The
semester-long internship course is founded on the
principles of experiential education and is considered
fieldwork in an academic major. Incoming students
are closely advised by the LA Center prior to their
arrival and may select internships from a database
of over 800 internship listings. Within the first
two weeks of the semester, students are required
to submit a Learning Agreement and essay based on
their internship placement. Requirements for the
course also include three mandatory class meetings,
weekly journals, and a final project connected to
the internship experience. Students may intern at
one intern site for 4 or 8 units of credit only.
